IEDA as an advocate for business rights

Through established relationships with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, state and federal agencies and elected and appointed officials, the Indiana Economic Development Association works to assure that economic development issues remain on the forefront of Indiana’s agenda.

Throughout the state legislative session, IEDA members are alerted about important legislative developments. When necessary, IEDA will reach out to its members to help promote the “pro-business growth” position on specific legislation. Additionally, IEDA’s advocacy efforts are lead by a volunteer 12-member Legislative Committee, which is comprised of an appointed member representative from each of the nine congressional districts in the state as well as three at-large members. This committee works with IEDA’s lobbying firm, Bose Public Affairs Group to develop legislation, monitor bills that affect Indiana’s economic climate and promote the pro-business growth position on important legislation.

When the Indiana General Assembly is in session, the Legislative Committee typically meets every Friday at 2:00 p.m. EST / 1:00 p.m. CST in the offices of Bose Public Affairs Group. Whether or not IEDA members are appointed members of the Legislative Committee, members are always welcome to attend these meetings.
