Criteria for Scholarship to EDI – Indianapolis

The Indiana Economic Development Association endeavors to help educate our membership in the rudiments of the economic development profession.  All members are encouraged to continue their education beyond the Basic Economic Development Course.  The Economic Development Institute (EDI) is one such method.  The IEDA Foundation offers scholarships to members to attend the EDI course, held annually in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The following eligibility criteria applies to IEDA scholarships for EDI:

1. Must be a dues paying active member of the IEDA for at least one year

2. Scholarships based on fund availability, will be offered for up to 505 of the tuition cost. 

o

3. Applicant should verify a financial need (size of corporate budget and percentage devoted to training) in order to receive a scholarship.

o

4. Applicant should demonstrate that economic development is your core job responsibility (at least 50%of time devoted to economic development).

o

5. Number of years of experience in the economic development profession.

o

6. Applicant’s commitment to a career in economic development.

o

7. Prioirity, based on funds, will be given to those who are attending Year One or year Two of EDI, though there may be opportunities for Year Three.

o

8. Applications should be received three months prior to the s tart of EDI

o

9. Announcements  of scholarship awards will be made at least two months prior to the beginning of EDI.

o

10. Supply a copy of current resume with application.
